Our Beliefs: At the Cornerstone Church in Malawi, we believe in the principle of openness to all affirmations of the Christian faith which are expressions of the Biblical revelation. The intended unity among Christians is not based on achievement of full agreement on all theological questions. Rather, it is based on a common membership in the church through the grace of God and is anchored by a common commitment to the centrality of Christ and the authority of the Word of God.
Church Planting: Cornerstone church planting program is quickly gaining momentum in the Shire Valley in southern Malawi. There are now numerous churches in the 5 demarcated areas: 1. Nsanje Area 2. Chimombo Area 3. Tengani Area 4. Khulubvi Area and 5. Bangula Area. Our vision is reach all parts of the Shire Valley and to start churches in the Ngabu, Nchalo and Chikwawa areas in the near future.
Leadership Training: Due to the fast pace at which churches are being opened, the challenge we now face is relevant leadership training. Because of the remoteness of most areas being reached, the solution to training has been to introduce the Theological Education by Extension (TEE) program. This program incorporates correspondence -type learning where leaders take home course books and after reading and studying them, they are tested. We also welcome and promote Leadership Training Seminars in partnership with Mission teams.
